New England Gray Granite lanternposts from Spectacle Mountain in Barre Vermont are a natural in any outdoor setting. These impressive lanternposts are 6 3/8" square, 8 feet long, weigh nearly 400 lbs and are center bored end to end for wiring. Topmount granite lanternposts are adorned with our exquisitely finished red cedar cap with universal fixture mounting coupler. To ensure the fixture is always secure, the lantern post cap is fastened deep into the stone with 4 inch screws and expansion anchors. The sidemount granite lanternpost includes our New England style pyramid cap glued to stone and universal fixture mounting hardware to fit most side mount fixtures. Because of the massive weight of our Granite lanternpost, our installers must employ the work truck crane to lower the post into the ground hole. Your location for installation must be accessible with our work truck. Granite lanternposts are shipped motor freight in a solid protective crate. Cedar lanternposts are 6 1/4" square, and 8 feet long with traditional edge chamfering. Our laminated northern white cedar lanternpost is an engineering marvel that resists warping, twisting and checking commonly found with solid core cedar posts. Each post is planed, filled and sanded smooth, enrobed with two coats of oil base primer to lock the natural protective tannin inside the post and provide excellent surface adhesion for two coats of acrylic latex stain, handpainted for an authentic brush texture . Lanternpost caps with classic Roman ogee moldings are made of red cedar, constructed with stainless steel corner clips, waterproof glue and stainless fasteners. Caps are finished with two coats of primer and two coats of acrylic latex stain. Topmount lanternpost caps have a "rust free" 3" universal aluminum fixture mounting coupler providing a solid mount for most fixtures. To provide maximum support for the fixture, caps are glued to the post and 4" fastening screws are driven through the aluminum coupler, through the cap, and deep into the cedar lantern post. Finally, our cedar lanternposts are protected from wood rot with Post Seal, an impermeable membrane encasing the post below ground level adding decades of life to your Yankee Lanternpost. Adorn you Yankee lantern post with our classic Yankee Lantern fixture available in top and side mount with black or bronze finish. Both fixtures are made of brass and beveled glass, top mount-23" high/13" wide, 3 - 60 watt bulb candelabra and sidemount-20" high/10" wide, 2 - 60 watt candelabra. Both fixtures provide easy access for bulb replacement. Granite and Cedar Lanternposts are professionally installed within a 70 mile road route of our facility at 777 Madison Street, Wrentham MA. Our installers remove your old lanternpost and install your new Yankee Lanternpost solid and plumb, 2 feet in ground. Lanternpost installation does not include electrical fixture connection. The installers will set up the wiring for easy hook-up. Electrical fixture connection must be done by the homeowner or licensed electrician. Customers outside our service area are considered and incur an additional charge. Yankee Lanternposts are easy to install for do-it-yourselfers. UPS ground shipping is available for all cedar Lanternposts. All cedar lanternpost components are packed with care and come with all necessary hardware, touch up paint and simple to follow installation instructions.
